Applebee's is a North American-based, casual restaurant chain with close to 2,000 locations. Founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1980, the chain has an international presence in China, Jordan, Brazil and Ecuador.[1] Applebees locations generally feature an upbeat environment with a full bar. The restaurants feature an extensive menu filled with a variety of appetizers, main dishes, sides and desserts. The menu is focused on classic favorites and American-style flavors, but does has some international flavors in the menu. In addition to the basic menu, Applebee's features a large drink and bar menu.

Applebee's Drink and Appetizer Recipes

Applebee's offers a wide selection of mixed drinks such as their signature Perfect Margarita that pairs well with most of their appetizer options. Popular appetizer options that can be made at home include the spinach and artichoke dips, classic wings, cheeseburger sliders, potato twisters chili cheese nachos, potato twisters and potato skins. These appetizers range in price from about $6 to almost $12 for an appetizer sampler platter. Making these dishes is appropriate for a party, sports event or as a special treat to start off a nightly meal.

Applebee's Entree Recipes

Applebee's divides their menu into distinct sections by price, main ingredient and caloric content. If you are on a calorie-restrictive diet, consider recreating the chain's Teriyaki shrimp pasta or Asiago peppercorn steak.[2] For pizza lovers, the Applebee's spinach pizza or the vegan spinach pizza alternative are appropriate options. An easy chicken entree to try is fiesta lime chicken. For pasta lovers, a shrimp fettuccine alfredo or Cajun shrimp pasta are quick and flavor-packed selections. Several WeightWatchers or low-calorie meal options include the Cajun lime tilapia, grilled shrimp & island rice and spicy pineapple glazed shrimp & spinach.[3] No matter which entree you select to replicate to home, put your own flair on the dish by customizing the spices and ingredients to your taste preferences. Whenever possible, opt for fresh ingredients to help improve the flavor and create dishes like the ones found at your local Applebee's location.
