  • 1 1/4 cups Bisquick baking mix[2]
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/4 cup diced apples[3]
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract[4]
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened to room temperature[3]
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon[5]
  • 1/3 cup flour[6]
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Cracker Barrel Apple Streusel French Toast Recipe

  1. In a large bowl, mix the Bisquick and flour together.
  2. Add in the brown sugar, 2 beaten eggs, apples, vegetable oil, and vanilla. Mix well.[2]
  3. Grease a small loaf pan and pour the batter into it.
  4. Bake for about 60 minutes or until completely done in the middle.
  5. Remove the bread from the oven and cool on a wire rack.[2]
  6. While the bread is cooling, make the streusel topping.
  7. When the bread has cooled completely, remove it from the loaf pan and cut into nine slices.
  8. In a small bowl, combine the milk with the remaining 2 eggs.
  9. In a medium pan, melt the 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
  10. Dip each slice of apple bread in the egg and milk mixture. Turn to coat completely.[7]
  11. Place the bread in the hot pan and cook for a couple of minutes per side, or until golden brown.
  12. Top each slice with the streusel topping and additional melted butter, if desired.
