The Joe’s Crab Shack restaurant chain features a variety of crab and other seafood dishes on its menu. Joe’s Crab Shack Crab Cakes are lump meat crab cakes, prepared with a blend of seasonings and fried in a pan. At the restaurant, the crab cakes are served with a side of french fries and coleslaw. Joe's Crab Shack Crab Cakes Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard[2]
  • 1/8 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 1/4 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • Flour to coat
  • 4 cups oil for frying

Joe's Crab Shack Crab Cakes Recipe

  1. Mix together the mayonnaise, egg yolk, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, pepper, salt and parsley.
  2. Add the breadcrumbs to the mixture and stir.
  3. Gently fold in the crab meat.[3]
  4. Form ½ cup measurements of the crab cake mixture into patties.
  5. Coat the patties with flour.
  6. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Fry the crab cakes in a single layer, approximately 3 to 5 minutes on each side, until they are crispy and golden on the outside.[4]
  8. Drain the crab cakes on a paper towel.
