Prince's Hot Chicken Shack Fried Chicken Ingredients

  • Shortening for deep frying
  • 3 1/2 pounds white and dark chicken parts[3]
  • 3 eggs[4]
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Paprika, salt and pepper to taste

Prince's Hot Chicken Shack Fried Chicken Recipe

  • Heat the shortening to 375 degrees in a deep fryer or a large pot.[5]
  • Season the chicken pieces by sprinkling with salt and pepper.
  • Mix the egg, milk, hot sauce and teaspoon of salt in a shallow bowl.
  • Mix the flour with the rest of the spices in a shallow bowl or a deep plate.
  • Coat each piece of chicken in the flour and spice mixture, followed by the egg mixture. Then return to the flour mixture for a second coat.
  • Once coated, place immediately into the hot shortening to fry.
  • Fry for about 15 minutes, then let drain on a towel.
  • Sprinkle with a dusting of paprika.
